Bourbon Chocolate Ice Cream...Yes Please!

A few years ago my parents gave my daughter an ice cream maker. We have had loads of fun with this machine and last week I decided to experiment a little. I have always been the type of cook who likes to cook with alcohol. Some of my family favorites are Kahlua Cake, Bourbon Pecan Pie, Bourbon Sweet Potatoes, and now Bourbon Chocolate Ice Cream. So easy and so delicious....the only thing....it's adults only!! My kids did not love this but our guests were very happy!

You need an ice cream maker with a frozen bowl. I keep mine clean and in the freezer at all times for when I get the desire to whip up some yummy ice cream!

In a large mixing bowl whisk:

1 cup Cocoa powder, unsweetened (I like Trader Joes)

1/2 cup brown sugar, no lumps please so use fresh

2/3 cup white sugar (the finer the better)

then add:

1 Tablespoon Vanilla

1 Tablespoon Bourbon flavored vanilla (I get mine at Trader Joes)

3 1/4 cups Heavy cream

1 1/2 cups whole milk

2 Tablespoons Bourbon (Kahlua would be yummy too)

Whisk until smooth! Turn on the ice cream machine and pour in the mixture. Leave it churning for 25 minutes.

After 25 minutes pour into an ice cream freezer container and freeze for at lest 2 hours. I buy my freezer containers at Sur La Table. If you want to add anything in like candy, mix it in after the churning for best results!
